OK, well perhaps these days, there’s not so much rubber in new stamps LOL!
I love this image and fantastic sentiment from Magenta. There are so many options for it. So today, I chose to ink it up with Memento’s Tuxedo Black and then add some sponging. My colors came from the Color Challenge on SCS – So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Certainly Celery.
Then it was time to add some bling using Crystal Stickles. No other embellishments today. Pretty plain and simple. The image was layered on Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride and then on a standard A2 card.
Have a beautiful day everyone!
Thanks to the TLC on Splitcoast, here’s a new twist using your embossing folders. Try coloring the indented part of your embossing folder with your markers. Using my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker from Stampin’ Up! I colored the Elegant Lines embossing folder. Next run it through your Big Shot/Cuttlebug with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Now I added a little bling by adding Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer over the entire piece.
Then the piece was placed on a regular A2 sized card in Crumb Cake. Then I cut a strip of Victoria Crochet Trim and the same length of 3/8″ Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon. And, used Sticky Strip to adhere them together. Next this was sponged with Crumb Cake. The Decorative Label XL punch was used for the bottom layer of the sentiment treatment. Followed by a piece of Very Vanilla, against spritzed with the Vanilla Shimmer and stamped with the sentiment from Whimsical Words. The label is from the Lots of Tags sizzlet die. Added a few Basic Pearls and done! All products from Stampin’ Up!
Try this technique with a variety of embossing folders and colors and see what you can come up with!
Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day!
Over at Splitcoast, the Featured Stamped has such a beautiful gallery with many wonderful pieces of inspiration.
The designer paper used is called Global Views from DeJa Views. I used Stampin’ Up! Pumpkin Pie in craft ink, then used an embossing powder from a former stamp shop here in town to emboss it. The image is called Blush and it’s from Penny Black The embossing powder is called Jasper and it’s such an interesting color! I’ll be sorry when it’s all gone! The sentiment is from the Dawn Houser line at Inkadinkado.
The piece of designer paper has been layered over a slightly larger piece of Stampin’ Up! Cajun Craze and then mounted on a standard A2 card base in Stampin’ Up! Basic Black.
I hope all you moms out there have a beautiful Mother’s Day! We are all so blessed to be moms aren’t we?
Let me start by saying…I LOVE handbags!!!For the inspiration challenge today, I chose this purse. And here’s my recipe:
The cardbase is a standard A2 made with Stampin’ Up Basic Black cardstock. The ivory layer is a piece of SU Very Vanilla that’s been stamped with the Bliss stamp in Encore Gold and then overstamped in Soft Suede. Then run it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder to create a fabric look. The crushed gold-look cardstock at the bottom of the card is an unknown piece from my stash – sorry! The black velvet ribbon is from SU (retired).
Now for the medallion. I stamped SU Kind Thoughts (retired) image on SU Very Vanilla and punched it out using the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle XL punch. Then I used three different colors of Stickles (Dark Blue, Cinnamon and Distressed Antique Linen) and traced the pattern. A word of warning – it will take quite a while to dry as there’s a lot of heavy lines and depth to this. Then the medallion was layered onto a larger punched piece – the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle XL punch.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Another challenge card from Splitcoast today. A pocket card.
This card will fit in a regular A2 envelope. I started with a piece of designer paper about 4.25″ wide x 12″ long. This paper is from Stampin’ Up! and it’s called Elegant Soiree. Then I pulled the Spellbinders Labels 20 die through it, up to one end and cut the first edge and then repeated this on the other end. The card was scored and then I used Score-Tape on the front flap and adhered it to the back. I then cut inside the inside pull-out card with the same die but only making it just under 4″ so that it fits inside the pocket.
I added a stamped frame from Waltzingmouse stamps (SU Baja Breeze) and layered a Labels 18 piece on top with dimensionals. This piece has been stamped with some flourishes from the Stampin’ Up! set – To Have and To Hold (now retired). I sponged some of SU’s Paper Daisies and Victoria Crochet trim with Soft Suede and then proceeded to add lots of pearls.
The little card in the pocket has an area to write your note to the recipient.
Have a wonderful day!
This card has been made for the Splitcoast Stamper’s Way to Use it Challenge – WT321.
Don’t you just love this digital image by Digital Delights by Loubyloo? I fell in love with this sweet baker bear!
She’s been colored in Copics: C0, C1, E11, E13, E23, E27, E31, E33, E37, R00, R11, R20, RV11, RV55, RV63, RV66, YG91, YG95, YG97 and outlined in BG10. The sponging is Adirondack Wild Plum and done with the image still in the die. I used Tombow adhesive and Stampin’ Up’s Dazzling Diamonds in the bowl for a little bling.
The designer paper is from Prima and it’s called Melody. I’ve used the Lacy Square nestie to cut out the floral bg piece. Then I cut it in half and placed it behind the main image. A small Lacy circle has been place behind the sentiment which is on a small Label 10 nestie. A few Bazzill brads have been added randomly to the sentiment and another couple at the top and bottom of the main image panel.
Hope your day is sunny and bright!
