One Day at a Time

EDE84F8F-7FE6-4E37-8589-4E1FCDB15FF9Hello all!

I’m back with another card for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Pretty minimal colouring I must admit, but there is colouring.

I pulled a couple of prints for backgrounds using the Stencil Monoprint Technique with Distress Oxides.   This is the second print, as I wanted something light and airy. The first print has been saved for another card.

Next I stamped the gorgeous floral image in each corner. Then I loosely watercoloured a few of the flowers with the same inks.

I pulled out an oldie, but a goodie, sentiment stamp from Verve that I’ve used many times. I still love this stamp!

The panel was dry embossed and then I added some Deco Foil in to the centres of the flowers with a glue pen. You can see it below.

I’m on a kick…florals and watercolours these days it seems. Two of my favourite things. This is another card for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

The rose images were stamped and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Then I added a few splashes of the pink.  Instead of my usual smattering of sequins I chose to add a bit of dimension and shine with some black Enamel Accents.

Mr. & Mrs.

01133D28-75F8-4A7C-9BAA-9E7C46290E79My cousin asked me to make a card for his daughter’s wedding which is today.

Thought my jumping off point would be this gorgeous paper from the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit. Looked through my stamps  for floral and leaf stamps with the same feel. Next I played with some of my Zig markers to approximate the colours. All were fussy cut.

The frame, flower and leaves were all heat embossed in silver, as was the sentiment. My usual smattering of sequins complete the card. Happy to have another card made for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Dearest Friend

869A1CFF-EAB2-4A85-AA99-82AAAE145FDA.jpegSoft and dreamy colours for my card today. Still managing to keep up with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Yay me!

The background was made by smooshing three colours of Distress Inks on my craft mat, spritzing it with water and dragging my cardstock through it till all the colour was soaked up.

Next I heat embossed these gorgeous florals from Altenew in white. Then I added more colour with my Distress Markers and a damp paintbrush.

A simple heat embossed sentiment from the same set and my usual smattering of sequins/confetti complete the card.

Subtle

FA1E387E-4BC8-49DD-9230-7E179C8B736EFor the 30 Day Coloring Challenge…the word today is subtle.

Decided to try a very light hand with colour today. I stamped the image repeatedly to fill the card front. Next I used two different Derwent Inktense pencils to add a wee bit of colour. If you aren’t familiar with them, they are a watercolour pencil.

I used a sentiment from the same set, stamped in black. Some washi and a smattering of sequins finish the card.

You Are So Loved

30CDD73E-35BE-4BCD-8F22-7CF8B17273E5Another card for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

This gorgeous stamp is from the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit. So many options with this set including lots of great sentiments for many different occasions.

The image was stamped in grey and then watercoloured with three colours of Distress Inks. I added the flower centres with a white Sharpie paint pen and added highlights with a PITT Artist Big Brush.

Next came a little bit of sparkle. I adore that sweet little heart sequin!

Imperfection

1D7F160F-DF43-40C5-8ECC-A35E411CF730As I’m working my way through the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I’m trying new things. Stretching my creativity. Today was all about enjoying imperfection.

I think we all work so hard to colour inside the lines, to come up with the perfect design or the perfect card that we forget just to enjoy the process. So today I didn’t worry about things and just dabbed on colours a bit haphazardly and just had fun. There are white spaces without colour, and there is colour outside the lines…and that’s perfectly ok. Life isn’t perfect. Mother Nature isn’t perfect.

Today I played with the Nuvo Shimmer  Powders again. This time I just mixed them with water to use like a paint. Wish I could get a picture of the shimmer…but not today…

To add a bit of interest to the white space I used some thinned out Shimmer Powder on a just damp brush. That way it didn’t run under the stencil.  The final touch was a smattering of gems.
