Harlequin Floral

62E62CE1-82F7-422B-BA60-578EDB5F03C5Happy to have yet another card for my stash thanks to the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Another Stencil Monoprint background. If you’ve never tried this technique, I did a tutorial for Splitcoaststampers

Then I heat embossed this gorgeous floral image in white. Using the same three colours of Distress Inks I watercoloured the image. This time I added some shading with a Zig Clean Color marker.

A sentiment and some little gems complete the card.

Back soon with more my sweet friends.

Dearest Friend

869A1CFF-EAB2-4A85-AA99-82AAAE145FDA.jpegSoft and dreamy colours for my card today. Still managing to keep up with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Yay me!

The background was made by smooshing three colours of Distress Inks on my craft mat, spritzing it with water and dragging my cardstock through it till all the colour was soaked up.

Next I heat embossed these gorgeous florals from Altenew in white. Then I added more colour with my Distress Markers and a damp paintbrush.

A simple heat embossed sentiment from the same set and my usual smattering of sequins/confetti complete the card.

Behavioural Problems

93D89ACE-96DF-4C25-8468-6AC44FD7C7DC.jpegEver have one of those cards that behaves like a wicked child?  This one gave me lots of grief from the get go…but here it is.

I heat embossed the floral image from Studio Katia in white onto vellum. Then I coloured the back with some PITT big brushes.

Next I coloured some cardstock with the same turquoise colour and heat embossed the sentiment.

I’ve had excellent luck with the vellum adhesive I’ve been using…till today. Some weird stuff happened at the top when attaching the vellum. So I coloured another strip of cardstock and covered up the mess…sigh.

A smattering of sequins…oh those little beggars didn’t want to stick today,  but I persevered.

Bold Love & Hugs

0997CCFA-5232-4747-9D17-4AA35E4318DDMy card for Day 6 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  Today I experimented with a bolder palette. Sort of feel I need my sunglasses for this one. But it was fun playing outside my comfort zone.

I stamped and heat embossed this gorgeous floral background stamp from Simon Says. Then grabbed my Zig Clean Color brushes and a paintbrush.

Once dry it was die cut. A simple stamped sentiment and a smattering of sequins complete the card.

Distress Ink Watercolour

DEF77EE8-D7D6-4AD0-AD60-08B4312036BEHello again!  I’m back with a card for Day 4 of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

This card starts out with a stencil monoprint background using three shades of Distress Inks and a Studio Katia Stencil. There’s a link in my post from yesterday on instructions for this technique.

Then I used an embossing buddy generously over the entire piece before heat embossing in white. Next I watercoloured the floral image with the same three colours of Distress Inks, adding a bit of shading here and there.

After adding the sentiment in gray, I added my usual smattering of bling…this time gems, not sequins. Finally it was mounted on some dark gray cardstock.

Pencils on Grey

A4545898-428C-48CA-B2FB-6BB0C9CCAFCFHello friends!

Still playing with my Prismacolor pencils today for Day 2 of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge. This time I’ve used some dark grey cardstock to make a one-layer card.

Another floral image (swoon).  Probably 90% of my stamps are florals. My love for flowers in the yard extends into my studio, especially since we have such a short growing season. Why not be surrounded by what you love year round?

The image was heat embossed in white and then I got to work colouring. Instead of using OMS for blending, I used my white pencil. No sentiment this time. While I could have added one on vellum, sometimes it’s nice to have a few generic cards around for any occasion. It was finished with my usual smattering of sequins.
