Floral Sympathy

9617DC42-ED5E-4E15-BDDF-1201EDC30EE7Sadly I need a couple of sympathy cards.  I’m always torn between something more somber and well…something like this.

I’m not in the habit of buying kits but when I saw the June Simon Says Stamp kit it literally took my breath away.

Today I decided to use some of the Moda Scrap designer paper from the kit. So many gorgeous designs to choose from!  The kit also has one of the new Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades embossing folders in it. Love the effect…swoon.   I added some random bits of  deco foil to it after embossing. Here’s another picture showing the embossing and foil.

Next I heat embossed three flowers from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set from the kit. I watercoloured them with Distress Inks in similar colours.  The sentiment was heat embossed on some vellum to complete the card.  This card is for Day 5 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Back soon with more my sweet friends.

Paper:  Moda Scrap, Neenah Solar White, vellum and Canson Bristol

Stamps:  Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers and Clearly Besotted (sentiment)

Ink:  Distress Inks and Versafine Clair

Misc:  Tim Holtz 3D embossing Folder, Deco Foil, heat tool, Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder, embossing buddy, adhesives, SU black embossing powder

  1. I’ve just started using some pattern paper recently. Also got rid of a ton awhile back. Haven’t bought any for years but was gifted some. It makes for a quick card sometimes. I’m away on vac right now but wl try to remember to post them when I get home.

  2. The patterned paper you used looks beautiful with the dry embossing and foiling Lee-Anne. Love the vellum sentiment banner so you don’t cover any of that background. Beautiful watercoloured flowers. xx
