It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
After what I like to call the Great Craft Room Purge of 2018, I’m actually able to find my desk and work with the things I truly love. After 20 plus years of stamping and never really doing a true purge it was more than due. My stamps and stencils are reorganized and I realize just how few things you really need. I’ve literally gotten rid of tons of stamps, stencils, dies and coloring mediums etc. that weren’t being used. It was very freeing to say the least. I’m not sure that I’m totally done either, I’ll do a second round in a while. But for right now it’s time to play again.
So of course, since it’s been months since I tried to create anything, it appeared that my mojo was also purged. A few days of playing I’m comfortable sharing something with you again.
The floral image from Studio Katia was heat embossed in white. Next I sprinkled on some Brushos in three colors. Impatience took over so the Brushos were quickly dried with my heat gun. Next I pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and added some color and detail here and there. Splatters of thinned white acrylic paint were added next. The sentiment, from the same stamp set was heat embossed on vellum. And for the final touch, some confetti, again from Studio Katia.
I’m reasonably happy with the result, especially after such a long absence at my craft table.
Back soon with more my sweet friends…
