Mixed Media Card Challenge #14

It’s time for another Mixed Media Card Challenge and here’s our theme for the month of August:

The challenges run from the 1st to the 25th of each month, with the winners announced on the last day of the month.  To play along, simply create a mixed media card and enter it at the Mixed Media Card Challenge.  Be sure to check out the cards from the rest of the Design Team!  So much inspiration!

New to mixed media?  Simply combine two or more mediums on your card.  So many choices: watercolor, gesso, acrylics, distress inks, pencils, crayons, Copics, other inks and on and on…

My colored panel has been made using the stencil monoprint technique.   My Splitcoaststampers tutorial for this technique can be found right here.  Once that was dry, I sponged more ink around the edges of the panel.  Then I stamped several different butterflies in gold ink and also heat embossed them in gold.

Here’s what I used:
Paper:  Distress Watercolor paper and Neenah Solar White
Ink:  Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender Distress Inks; Encore Gold and Ranger Jet Black Archival ink
Stamps:  STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies and Bold Sentiments
All the other stuff:  ARTplorations Bloom Silhouettes stencil, water mister, E.K. Success powder tool, gold embossing powder, heat tool, adhesive, sponge

Back soon with more my sweet friends…
