Rustic Luxe

Well, slowly but surely, the Christmas cards are getting done.  Here’s another one to add to my stash today.

I’ve stamped the wood background stamp with a couple of colors of Distress Ink, then taking a barely damp paintbrush, just sort of spread the color out here and there.  Then it was dried thoroughly before adding the wreath in Versamark and embossing it with some sparkly embossing powder.  Once that was fully dried, I added some of the Stampendous Spoonful of Snow randomly across the wreath and heat embossed it again.  If you’ve never used this stuff…it’s fantastic.  But it takes a bit of playing to make it stick.  The best way to use it, is to place it on your card and keep heating it from underneath, otherwise it really tends to fly around.  It takes some time and some patience, but it really has such a beautiful effect with some wonderful sparkle.

Next comes a simple stamped sentiment and done!

Here’s what I used:
Paper:  SU! Crumb cake
Ink:  Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks, Versamark and Ranger Archival
Stamps:  Tim Holtz Woodgrain, PSX (an oldie but a goodie) and Clearly Besotted Most Wonderful
All the other stuff:  paintbrush, heat gun, WOW Sparkling Snow embossing powder, Stampendous Spoonful of Snow, foam adhesive
