It’s Verve’s 5th anniversary this month and the Verve Divas are providing some fabulous challenges. You can check out the challenges over at Splitcoast on the Verve Stamps Forum.
The challenge today is to use silver and wood. It’s our wedding anniversary later this month and so needed to make something masculine.
I started out with a piece of faux wood designer paper and ran it through my Big Shot with a wood grain embossing folder. Then I added a bit of Picket Fence Distress Stain and some Distress Ink here and there. Next…distressing of course!
The sentiment panel has also been distressed and instead of the little flower on the sentiment stamp, I opted for a more manly star! LOL! Then I used the little row of stars from the same set across the upper right corner of the panel. The banner was cut out of a piece of scrap cardboard that’s been ripped and distressed a bit.
I looped some jute twine across and behind the panel and added a few silver embellies to make sure I’m compliant!
Here’s what I used:
Paper: SU! Basic Gray, SU! Kraft, SU! retired designer paper, misc. cardboard
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Weathered Wood
Stamps: Verve Super Dad and Verve Beautiful You
All the other stuff: Big Shot Pro, Time Holtz Alterations Wood Grain embossing folder, Verve Ribbon Banner A Cut Above die, circle punch, jute twine, SU! clip and Tim Holtz Idealogy Findings Sprocket Gears, Picket Fence Distress Stain, dimensionals, glue, distressing tool, sponges
Thanks for being with me today!
