Tim’s Tags – Day Nine

Tim Holtz has an outstanding background technique for today’s tag.

I’ve used his technique with a much more open stamp and added some Perfect Pearls also. Then I die cut the tree and painted with an Acrylic Paint Dabber in Silver. Once that was dry, a thick layer of Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence was painted over top and again, allowed to dry. Then I hand dyed the seam binding in Distress Ink in Festive Berries (ooh I love that color!) and it was twisted and wrapped around the tree.

Used my Movers and Shapers “25” die on some Grungeboard and also inked it with Festive Berries. Pulled some little sparkly stars from my stash and added one to the top of the tree and three more were placed randomly down the right side of the tag.

A little tulle and some red twine pulled through the tag hole finishes the tag.

Recipe:

Paper: none

Ink: Distress Inks in Festive Berries, Vintage Photo, Evergreen Bough, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Broken China

  2. What a charming original, Lee-Anne! Your bg is fabulous, so much depth and wonderful color…I am lovin' that tree. I like the simplicity of it along with you dressing it like a ball gown.

I haven't decided about the Festive Berries…it seems way to orange to me.

    Happy Monday
