Vintage Music

Another great challenge today over at SCS! So I chose to CASE a vintage feel card.

The designer paper has been run through an embossing folder, distressed and inked to make it feel old. So has the strip of black paper and the piece for the sentiment. The lovely sentiment comes from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Music Expressions. A couple of brads and a left over piece of lace that has been distressed also are used for embellishment.

I feel when it comes to vintage…you can just about do anything to your paper to make it look aged…whatever feels right to you. Use a distressing kit, ball up the paper in your hands, run it through an embossing folder, ink it…until it works for you.

Paper: Stampin’ Up! More Mustard, Basic Black and Newsprint Designer Paper

Inks: Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Stain and Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Stampin’ Up! Antique Brads and a piece of left over lace from another project which has also been distressed by inking it, balling it up in my hands and then hitting it with the heat gun

Try vintage…it’s a lot of fun and you can even work out some of your frustrations on those poor little defenseless pieces of paper!!! LOL!
